Four thousand photographs of my house now, still a construction zone with unfinished quarter round and some missing baseboards and sawdust everywhere. 5” walnut planks with square edges & some strange honed marble. I wish I had some before pictures but it was too ugly to bother with. Imagine a huge hole of missing flooring in the glossy maple living room and a cat hair...

My grandfather is gone. My sister is here and last night we had a fire on the beach and drank wine from cartons and put our hands on the soft noses of some horses and he was still alive. I don’t know what to do so I vacuumed. In two weeks I will go to Sweden. I took that picture last week, when he was still alive.

Teenage Art: For Anyone In Toronto: Very Important →
teenageart: So, our resident arsehole mayor is probably behind this - a survey to basically rank all of our services based on which ones people like. And then they ask you to choose what amount of taxes you will pay to cover the services! BARF. I think this baby needs some fucking jamming. I plan to…

Melissa Gira Grant: An Evening with Karen Finley,... →
melissa: I asked Karen if she was producing her burlesque (her word) work while she was still working as a stripper. I said for me, doing performance as a sex worker (i.e., being the subject, inviting the audience to slip between customer and pervert and patron) was only possible while I was still doing…

I went to the suburbs to see a movie because it was raining and in the suburbs they have parking lots. You know you’re getting close when every other store deals primarily in fireworks and pornographic video rentals, potato skins feature heavily on restaurant menus and all the BMWs are modded. I won’t make that mistake twice.

One of the things I like most about my mom is her deep distain for Ingmar Bergman. Years ago she read Laterna Magica and Images just to confirm it and said it was like he kept a diary of every shit he ever took. She talks about him as if he were a bad boyfriend.

Running in the dark beside the trains, Louise as my running partner, smiling and her ears streaming behind her, running past chocolate and pot and boys yelling songs about fuck school and fuck the world while riding bikes with no hands, boys going nowhere.

Some women fall in love and become wordy and boring. Some women fall in love to become static and happy. Or full. You can’t be too interesting if you don’t want something, if you have no need, even if it is secret, even if no one ever knows.

Bruce Peninsula - The Swimming Song This is Yuula’s boyfriend’s band. They are great. One summer they sang this on the island and it was the best. It is almost time to go back.

Do you know this complete jerk? He stole a dog near St. Clair and Bathurst. If someone stole my dog I would throw myself off a bridge. I can’t even imagine. Update: the dog was returned!  But remember the pictures. Don’t date him, don’t invite him to parties, don’t share cigarettes with him or offer him a seat on the subway.

Working on gala footage with women swinging from the ceiling and screeners after Woodlot next to the loudest people who ever lived, after lemon tarts and and walking home from Little Italy in the middle of the night and feeling made of marshmallows after Christin did magic to me and on the subway a teenage boy was carrying an enormous pile of white flowers for his mom while I read Roberto Bolano...

Michael & Christin came with me to Forks of the Credit. I saw two snakes. Christin was one of two people I invited to my wedding and she lives in Wisconsin and she sings songs and wants to keep bees. She took me to get my first tattoo when I was nineteen years old and then played her guitar in her dorm room in Minneapolis. She is a million feet tall and beautiful. She knows all kinds of...
