Toronto seeks ‘voluntary contributions’ from taxpayers (CBC)
I’ve never heard of this before. The city is not a charity, these services should not be optional, voluntary donations should not replace mandatory taxation, and we should not depend on chance altruism for funding. Just raise our taxes, don’t be scared.
But most of Ford’s cuts were rejected. Very exciting!
